The Highway Department is responsible for the condition of our Village roadways, parking lots & storm sewers. In addition, they maintain all Village owned property and, of course, are responsible for snow removal. Their direct telephone number is  (516) 239-5149.

Our Water Pollution Control Facility, originally constructed in 1938 and reconstructed in 1966 processes 1.5 million gallons of wastewater each day. Approximately two thirds of the Village has public sewer with the area south of Ocean Ave utilizing private septic systems. The Village cleans and maintains the system of underground sewers on a daily basis, however, if difficulties are experienced, problems can be reported at (516) 239-3580.
