The Building Department comes under the direction of Michael J. Ryder, Building Department Superintendent. The office is located in the Village Hall and he can be reached by telephone at (516) 239-3987 or by e-mail at building@villageoflawrence.org.
The Building Inspector is responsible for the enforcement of all Village Zoning Laws and all Building, Construction and Fire Prevention Laws. The Village of Lawrence has adopted the New York State Building & Fire Safety Code, and is responsible for its enforcement.
In addition, the Building Department administers the licensing of plumbers and electricians who wish to perform work in the Village.
The Building Department will provide Flood Insurance information and documentation upon request.
