Board of Building
Design
- The Board of Building Design shall review and advise on all applications
for building permits referred to it by the Building Inspector, including but
not limited to:
- New construction of any kind
- Any exterior addition or alteration to pre-existing buildings/structures
or accessory buildings
- Swimming pools, decks, recreational structures
- New fences (including replacements)
- Curb cuts
- Other matters referred by the Planning Board or
Zoning Board of Appeals;
- Any plans or proposals the Building Inspector may refer to the Board.
- Applications must be accompanied by plans showing all elevations of
proposed new
structures and all affected elevations in the case of additions or
alterations.
Required for Review by the Board:
- Six sets of elevations and two complete sets of structural drawings (including
elevations) must be submitted with a permit application to the building
department.
- Pictures of the existing residence showing the location of all proposed
construction, fences, swimming pools, or curb
cuts, etc.
- Samples of all materials used including siding, veneer, and roofing materials.
The Board of Building Design meets once a month. Please contact the
building department office for filing and meeting dates.
